What’s New in 2025/2026?
The Zambian government will fully migrate FISP to the e-Voucher system across all 116 districts this season, phasing out the old Direct Input Supply (DIS) system.
Key updates:
- 100% e-Voucher adoption: No more DIS system – all districts now digital
- Stricter e-KYC checks: MTN/Airtel/Zamtel verify NRC-mobile links
- More agro-dealers: 631+ private suppliers (vs 400 in 2024) creating 5,000+ jobs
- Faster redemption: 99% of farmers received inputs by November 2024 in pilot districts
- Lower costs: Fertilizer prices dropped ZMW440 per pack in pilot districts
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify, you must:
- Be a verified smallholder farmer (≤5 hectares)
- Have a valid NRC and registered mobile number (MTN/Airtel/Zamtel)
- Not be formally employed or previously disqualified
- Belong to a farmers’ group/cooperative (or register one)
Important note:
212,851 farmers were removed in 2024/2025 for:
- Invalid NRC/phone numbers (152,723)
- Duplicate registrations (50,431)
- Formal employment (7,757)
How to Register (Step-by-Step)
- Pre-Registration Prep– Ensure your NRC and mobile number match (e-KYC will verify this)- Gather: – Original NRC + photocopy – Proof of farmland (chief’s letter or lease agreement) – Farmer group ID (if applicable)
- Visit District Agriculture Office– Locations: All 116 districts now included (Find your nearest office)- Best time: Early mornings (avoid month-end rushes)- Submit documents to get voucher ID
- Await SMS Confirmation– Approved farmers receive e-Voucher code with allocated funds (~ZMW 2,400/hectare)
- Redeem at Approved Agro-Dealers– Over 1,000 input collection points nationwide
